Palais Garnier

Charles Garnier's 1875 opera house is the grandest interior in Paris — a riot of marble, gilt and red velvet crowned by a ceiling painted by Marc Chagall, and the setting of The Phantom of the Opera. Self-guided day visits let you climb the Grand Staircase and walk the Grand Foyer.
